They were the Fish sisters — Gerry, Kathy, Betsy, Sue. And anyone who attended Wright State in the university’s early days likely knew at least one of them.
The Fishes cut a high profile when they were at Wright State in the 1970s and were heavily involved in campus activities. The house they rented on Colonel Glenn Highway near the university became a magnet for fellow students.
Perci Piétro (Prince Percia Piétrolungo), who graduated from Wright State University in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in biology, founded the Miami, Florida-based firm OWN Realty and OWN Financial, of which he is chairman and CEO. Piétro is also a great grandson of the fifth king of Persia, Mozaffar Al-Din Shah Qajar, and the son of Princess Shahnaz Shakoori.
Alumnus Dr. Gregory Archer ’84, Psy.D., has recently released a nonfiction narrative, titled Private Heller and the Bantam Boys: An American Medic in World War I, about his late grandfather, Ralph Heller, a WWI Army medic.
State Department diplomacy is much more than embassies, treaties and summits. It’s also three-pointers and slam dunks. And Wright State University alumnus Morgan O’Brien has an opportunity to strengthen the State Department’s sports diplomacy program, serving a fellowship with the NBA’s International Basketball Operations team.
