"Wright State on the Road" Created to Engage Alumni

The slogan "relive, renew, and reconnect" reflects a new program by the Wright State Alumni Association to get more involved with university graduates.
There are nearly 47,000 alumni in the core region of the 16 counties in the Dayton area, and ‘Wright State on the Road’ was developed to increase our interaction with these individuals.
President David Hopkins was the featured speaker for the spring season event in "Raider Country" that included stops during April and May in Celina, Beavercreek, Fairborn, Springfield, Dayton, Troy, Xenia, and Bellefontaine. Trips earlier this year took Hopkins to New York City, Houston, Washington, D.C., and Chicago.
The "Raider Country" visits allowed alumni to meet and greet the president, hear the latest news about their alma mater, and take pride in university accomplishments. These events provided graduates with a chance to relive their memories of Wright State, renew old friendships, and reconnect with the alma mater.
Alumni contribute immeasurably to the economy and social fabric of their communities as wage earners, civic activists, and community volunteers, and the university wants to tap into this expertise. The Office of Alumni Relations wants to make today's Wright State a reality to our graduates and engage them as volunteers, advocates, recruiters, and mentors across this region and the entire country.
Wright State on the Road already is paying dividends for the university. At all major cities in the tour, alumni association membership has increased, event attendance is up from prior years,

and so is the giving level for alumni in these cities. President Hopkins has inspired alumni to engage more graduates in their communities, and alumni networks have been developed in Washington, D.C., Cincinnati, and Columbus. These networks are planning service projects for their cities and creating scholarships for students from their areas. The Alumni Association also has begun a national alumni network with alumni volunteering to connect with new graduates who are relocating to their cities.
The Office of Alumni Relations encourages alumni to check Wright State on the Road website at www.wright.edu/ontheroad regularly to watch for new cities being added and to see if "Wright State on the Road" is coming to a location near you. We want to hear your story and look forward to meeting you. For more details on these and other Wright State events contact us at (937) 775-2620.
